About the Campaign

Ayden is a 6 year old boy (7 tomorrow!) who lives in Zimbabwe. He was first admitted to a clinic on the 18th April and was treated for malaria. On the 1st May he was admitted into hospital following his first severe nose bleed that wouldnt stop. It was treated and finally stopped. Two days later it started bleeding again but this time there was blood in his stools too. His platelet count dropped as low as 4000 (normal 150 000 – 400 000) and his haemoglobin dropped to 6 (normal 13.5). Ayden has had several blood transufusions to correct this. Ayden has had numerous tests to establish the causes of his illness including a bone marrow biopsy to check for leukaemia which came back negative. Ayden has had very high fevers and unexplained rashes. He now has lots of blisters and his skin is peeling away. Since being in hospital, there has been no further progress being made about his condition. The doctors have now informed Aydens parents that Ayden will need to go to South Africa for further diagnosis and treatment. Aydens parents desperately need your help with the extra costs of an air evacuation for Ayden, air fares for the family, shortfalls for medical expenses, travelling to the hospital and back, accommodation, food etc. Please join the family as partners to help shoulders the financial burden that they have in trying to raise finances needed so that Ayden can get specialist care that he needs to overcome and beet this devastating illness. Every donation no matter how small is one step towards reaching the goal. If you are not able to donate you can still help by keeping Ayden and his family in your prayers and sharing this request on you wall. Thank you and God bless you all xx

Please let them test for Steven Johnson syndrome! It has the same symptoms of this little boy. Our friend had it a year ago it strated with flu symptoms, rash and then came the burn – inside out.

Hi, I was saddened to discover that Ayden passed away. I made a donation but never got to learn his surname. How is his family. I have a grandchild the same age and think of the sadness they must feel at losing someone so young.
